Dimitsana Clock Tower Here it is!	Dimitsana: The Statue of Patriarch Gregorios the 5th, opposite the Library. Gregorios the 5th, Patriarch in Constantinople, martyr of the Greek nation, was born here in Dimitsana. He was tortured and hanged to death by the Turkish mob in Constantinople, when the news for the outbreak of the Greek Revolution of 1821 reached the city.
Dimitsana Side Street. Stone cobbled winding streets, wooden balconies, stone houses, earthware jars with flower pots, shops with tourist and local art souvenirs...	Dimitsana Main Street. Electricity and Telephone lines, a photographer's nightmare in Dimitsana, the same as in all beautiful places in Greece. But the city is otherwise so beautiful!

Dimitsana: Lintels and Vine-leaves One of these lintels with its traditional ironmonger's work shows in our next photo.	Dimitsana: Lintel Detail Traditional ironmonger's handicraft in the lintels above the doors. No welding: iron pieces are kept together by means of iron nails through holes and iron bonds.
Dimitsana: Kazakos Traditional Guest-House Open all year round, it offers a hospitable environment and superb views.	Dimitsana: Street Scene Ground floor renovated, first floor with very old shutters. Robust stone construction, wooden balcony, clothes to dry, stone paved streets, tiled roofs, litter disposal units, visitors promenading... And the ever present energy lines.
Dimitsana: Tiny Back Street House to the left is being renovated, a coffee-bar to the right at work, next house to the left is to let, house in the background is for sale; Dimitsana is rapidly being transformed into a modern provincial town.	Dimitsana: Traditional House Perhaps the last traditional house, built in the very beginning of the 20th century if not earlier. There is no way that low class houses could have been much different than this one back in 1821, when the Greek Revolution against Turkish rule broke out. Our guide (not very tall, anyway!) is included in the photo to judge the proportions of the house.
Dimitsana: Looking out to the East Contrasting to the previous photo, this four storey mansion dominates over the valley.	Dimitsana: Water Mill Ruins Beginning of August: in the almost totally dry river bed the ruins of a water mill long for glorious days in the past, when it used to grind either grain or powder ingredients. It is very well known that a huge percentage of the powder used by the Greek warriors of independance was produced in Dimitsana and along the Loussios river bed.
