Rhodes Island Tour 1

The traditional face of Rhodes!

Rhodes Inside the Castle

Rhodes Inside the Castle

A perfect opportunity to see a lot of the island with its interesting landscape and numerous villages. We begin the tour with a drive along the East Coast of the island and our first stop is Chambika Church. Continuing along the East Coast we visit Archangelos, the second largest village, with its interesting pottery workshop. Then we make our way to Asclepio, where we visit the historical church of Panaghia (Our Lady), built in 1060 AD. We will have our optional swim and lunch at Kiotari. After lunch we cross the island at the center and head toward the West Coast. During this coast to coast drive through the island you will enjoy the typically Mediterranean spectacular scenery. Throughout the year the West Coast remains a very green and fertile region, quite different from the East Coast. A stop is made for photographs at the Castle of Monolithos and to taste the local Souma, honey and local sweet aperitifs.

Our journey then takes us along the West Coast passing several villages where the locals still live the old traditional way of life. A refreshment stop is made at Kamiros Scala, mid-afternoon, before returning to your hotel.

Notes: Excursion starts at the northern side of the island.
