The well-known beach of Livada can be reached by a paved new road (connecting to a decent dirt road waiting to be paved), starting from the village of Steni. The drive (or walk) is along a winding, very scenic route. Off-road Jeeps are great for this road, though any good car with a decent ground clearance can manage. The countryside views are rugged and wild along the five-kilometer route, and the beach itself is unlike any other on Tinos. Here you’ll find green and sand-colored rocks and boulders strewn about, beautifully clear water (though very deep), and a small taverna which operates during the high season, and whose owner acts as lifeguard. The area is quite desolate and hauntingly beautiful.
