| Egypt | Egypt somehow manages to always surprise and move us, regardless whether we come from countries with ancient monuments buried under our feet wherever we stand or from countries of the so-called New World. Is it because of the hugeness of its monuments, because of our failure to decipher their secrets, because of the impact of its ancient civilization on the birth and evolution of the Greek civilization, the cradle of the European and the Western ones? Is it due to the simplicity of the manners and the goodness of the heart of its inhabitants? To the considerably elevated standard of the services we cherish? To the humdingers in the Egyptian open markets, to the richness and diversity of tastes of the local Cuisine? Or is it just because of the low cost of having one’s vacation there?
