Lake Yliki, by the National Road from Athens to Lamia, got back to almost normal water level after Athens found an alternative way to provide water to its more than 4 million inhabitants. Before that, it was almost totally drained, with disastrous side-effects for farmers in the neighboring Kopaida plain, a drained former lake itself. The new (1992) system of aquaducts of Evinos river, Mornos river and Yliki, provides (so far) more than enough water to Athens and permits the creation of this beautiful lakescape shown in this album.
